    We need more shows
I love to hear about all of the different developments in Houston and the different areas! I love the history, gossip and guests. It’s fast paced and fun for all. I feel like it’s not as frequent.

    Look Forward to Every Episode.
Now that Swamplot.com is no more I look to this podcast for what’s happening. Would like a bit more in-depth conversation in the topics discussed making it a longer show. Would like to see a video version as well. Still enjoying the podcast. 👍🏽

    Interesting but Lacks Depth
Need to expand beyond the tired worn out developer talking points. Surprisingly shallow for a city of this size and diversity.
  • JacqMarAlb
    Interesting but it lacks something
With it being the most diverse city in the US, this podcast lacks diversity in every sense. I would love to hear more voices from people of all walks of life.
  • Splavins
    A bit boring
Regardless of the topic, it doesn’t hold my attention. I find myself asking whomever is speaking to get to the point and cut the banter.

    I love it
This show is informative and fun, local and down to earth. Great job, keep it up, more listeners will follow

    I love this podcast!
This is among my very favorite podcasts. The host is outstanding. She chooses fabulous people to include in conversation about Houston real estate. The discussions are engaging and always teach me a lot about interesting aspects of Houston real estate, development, and happenings.

    Good topics but...
Mediocre at best is a good description. Conversations ramble, people repeat themselves, too many “likes”, unprofessional.

    Loved it!
Great stories and terrific journalism. Fantastic for folks interested in Houston and it’s crazy real estate scene.

In this town since 1987 yet I learn so much about Houston!
It’s pitiful that Nancy Sarnoff’s Looped In is one of only two Houston Chronicle podcasts (the paper’s Austin Bureau chief Mike Ward does a great show with Scott Braddock of Quorum Report, but that’s really it. There are three or four other Chron-branded podcasts I’ve seen, but they publish sporadically or have shut down long ago). Be that as it may, Looped In is a *wonderful* show tangentially about the Houston real estate market, but way broader than that. Rather home valuations and buying and selling, Sarnoff with co-host Allyn West and guest experts (some in the business and some reporters who cover the subject matter) talk more about specific neighborhoods, how they change and why. They talk about the city’s (lack of) walkability, urban density, large parking lots and dangerous sidewalks and why some are hoping to change that, why grocers enter some markets but not others, historic preservation and the like. Recent shows about retail in the Heights, the decline of Randalls grocery chain locally, what goes into building safer schools and gentrification in Third Ward have been great shows have been interesting and informative. Not of great is that “lightening round” at the end: guys, come up with fresher questions (who cares what every guest’s fave thing to order at a Mexican restaurant is? No one.) Give your guests the questions in advance so they can have thoughtful answers, aren’t put on the spot and so it can actually go lightening fast. At least edit out the dead air where they are trying to think of an answer. Finally, it seems like a Houston Chronicle podcast could do better on the production value. The newspaper does technology worse than any major newspaper in the country as far as I can tell. Looped In is a great show and a lot of fun at times, but the paper can’t figure out how to sell ads on it? No wonder the paper keeps having layoffs.) The Chronicle can’t find a sound editor who can take out the nervous laughs, ums, stutters and slow bits? The show sounds good, but not polished. Ward’s show Texas Take sounds professionally edited, but clearly it’s produced by Braddock’s Quorum Report). The Chronicle clearly still does not understand tech! Take its website: even full subscribers constantly get kicked off and/or locked out. There’s no way to resolve the issue but to CALL circulation! There’s no “reader view” or printer option that allows printouts that don’t pick up all the ads, “related stories” and sidebar junk. Pathetic. Bottom line: Listen to Looped In and hope the Chronicle one day learns to value its (now tiny) podcast audience and its (long-exasperated) online readers.

    5 stars
    Great podcast!

    Thank You!
I always admire efforts, not driven by profit, to improve life in the community. The hosts realized a series, without commercials!, talking about very interesting real estate topics. Our inner city is booming and the show is a mirror, held by Nancy and Allyn, showing us what we should know about. Thank you for the 75 episodes!

    Timely Topical Perspective
I work in the real estate industry in Houston. I enjoy the comments and questions that Nancy Sarnoff and Allyn West come up with, great minds with great ideas. I regularly read their articles and find this show to be a wonderful compliment to their individual and collective oeuvre. I always dig the "fire rounds" and how you navigate through the interviews. Keep up the good work!

    Fun info on Houston
Fun podcast, have enjoyed almost every episode

    Fun and informative Houston podcast
It's all about Houston "inside the loop" (610). It's mostly about real estate and related topics but veers off into general Houston info. Nancy and Allyn are funny and know Houston very well. If you live in the loop in Houston, are considering moving there, or you work in Houston real estate this is your podcast.

    Lives up to billing!
A solid piece of journalism done in a way that is informative, interesting and entertaining. If I have a criticism, it’s minor, sometimes I’d like to hear the other side of an issue but generally, this podcast is a job well done. A solid “A”.
  • Rocketstx
Not much in terms of information
Other than the obsession with Zone D and millennials, I have not heard anything really informative
  • Trevor Hightower
    Yes!
This is exactly what Houston needs. Big fan and can't wait to see this podcast grow.

Beggars Can't Be Choosers But Man...
I was hesitant to leave a "mediocre at best" review just because there isn't much else in the way of Houston focused podcasts. However, a podcast chiefly consisting of journalists interviewing other journalists in the office ? It comes across as a fun way to burn some time at work.
