    Bring retro pod back.
Retro pod is a wonderful short brief Podcast. It was a wonderful way to start off the morning every day. It’s a great way to fight this silliness of lies and conspiracy wackos they are putting out nonsense into the environment. I think it is absolutely important. Put pressure on The Washington post to get them to start it back up. After all don’t you want your children to know the correct truthful history? Or maybe you would like to really know what truth is

    Notate rerun episodes, please
Minus two stars for not denoting rerun episodes in the episode titles. There are too many not to do this! Otherwise good.

    Why?!
I teach US History at our local high school and this was a go to for beginning my classes. It’s short and simple and students love this podcast. Why stop?! 😩

    Where is it?
This was the top advertised podcast in your email advertising podcasts this morning. And yet, it hasn’t had a new episode in 2020? What the heck?? It’s so good...bring it back, please!

    Where’d it go??
This is a great podcast and has led me many times to find out even more about a subject presented on the show. Please bring it back. There wasn’t even any warning that it was ending!

    Where is it?
Apparently, Retropod continues online available to read, but not as a podcast currently. I miss it and hope it returns soon.

Love it but can’t hear it
It sounds like this was recorded on a talkboy from 1993. Get a new mic you guys. If you need proof, listen to literally any other podcast so you can see how crap the sound quality is. Got tired of the sound fluctuating in volume so much every time a recording was played between narration so stopped listening. New. Mic. So. Easy.

    Terrific insights
I thoroughly enjoy each of these episodes, for sharing stories that most people have long forgotten. I wish these podcasts were maybe twice as long, they leave me wanting more, but I am glad they provide references to the articles that inspire each episode.

    Great Show
Agree with other reviewers great show. Shirt fun story, but it doesn’t seem to be pushing new episodes anymore, did the show end?
  • The Big Dude
    Great Job!
I don’t always agree with your purposeful attempt to influence American Politics as a newspaper, but Michael knocks it out of the flippin park with Retropod. Keep up the good work, brother!

Have loved this podcast for a daily
Intriguing trivia tidbit. No new episodes for weeks. 😯 Is it over?
  • Griffdb
Learn a fun fact in less than 5 minutes

Love this podcast, but I keep getting alerts that new episodes have posted and yet there are no new ones showing anymore. Hoping it’s just a glitch!

    Daily pleasure
This podcast is a wonderful way to start the day. We all benefit when people become lifetime learners and the tidbits from Retropod are a handy reminder to keep an open mind. Thanks from an old trivia lover.

    Emmit Till episode
You forgot to mention that the claim that he whistled at the lady was not true. This was later admitted by her. This is a fact that I believe should not have been omitted. Other than that this is a great podcast.
  • daniorerio
    Great podcast!
Short & sweet, yet also fascinating and informative. I enjoy knowing that my subscription to the Washington Post supports efforts like this one. Thank you!
  • Marvelous89
My favorite podcast, I look forward to this in the morning.
The narrator is just great at what he does. Love this podcast, the story telling in this is AMAZING! I listen to other podcasts and allow them to play in order and I could never wait til this podcast gets its turn. I look forward to this in the morning lol

The repeats need to be flagged
This is an excellent podcast, though it's time for the authors to mark the original release dates in the title of each episode. I'm sure it's an enormous amount of work to generate a new episode every day, but there are many of us who have heard every episode from the start, and it's frustrating to hear old episodes presented as new ones. Examples from the last few days include hearing about the 50th anniversary of 1968 when it's 2019 and hearing about how the Winter Olympics are currently going on when it's the height of summer one year later.

    Love
A wonderful series!! Thank you thank you.

    Too short to bother with
Too short. Takes 5 minutes to get loaded then episode is for 5 minutes. Extend to at least 20.
  • JudyPaonia
I love this series.. short and fascinating
It is a great non partisan way to enjoy facts.. and historical nuggets to savor.. a respite in this stressful workd

    Five Minutes
Somehow there’s so much history packed into this snippet of a podcast. I’m not sure how I found it, but I’ve been on a binge ever since.
  • JP, Cleveand OH
    Lots of fun!!
A lot packed into a few minutes!
  • CharlesVashon
    Brilliant!
Great “short” yet in-depth and interesting snippets of world history told by a knowledgeable and entertaining host. This is my morning podcast while the rest of the household sleeps and I get to be productive. Keep up the great work!
  • melanie8197
    Why so many repeats?
I used to love this podcast, but they’ve been repeating so many old episodes that I’ve already listened to. If it’s going to be a show with seasons that’s fine, but if it’s just going to be repeats of the same episodes then that’s kind of a bummer. Hope we get new episodes soon!
  • Darkklegend

    Please stop the background music.
Please stop the background music. It’s a torture. I love this podcast but unfortunately will have to stop listening because of the loud music that overcloud the words. I have trouble to hear the words when loud music is playing st the same time. Why do you need this ?
  • sio.m
    Byte-sized gem
Love this one. Think cross between the memory palace and the writer's almanac. Keep up the good work!
  • GeoPlan
    Short & interesting
Wish they’d lose the background music though.
  • SmoothHughes
    Quick Takes on Forgotten History
Short takes on lesser-known stories from history. I've liked every one I've listened to but somehow am not hooked, hence the four stars.
  • Ginagina Smith
    You have time for this!
Love these brief (yet surprisingly thorough) glimpses into history. Amazing: Hoover & Mexicans; history truly does repeat itself.
  • Baileybuddy30
    The Wade Story
Wade’s story should have stayed forgotten! He wasn’t very redeemable since “years later he acknowledged that some abortions should be legal.” Men don’t have any right to tell women what is legal or illegal when it comes to abortion rights!

    Zoink!
A 5 minute (+\-) journey into ANYTHING that has happened. It never fails to leave my head spinning and wondering, “How did I not learn about that before?” I wanted to review as thanks for throwing such a cool little podcast into the mix.

    Nice history fix
This is a great quick taste of history that I did not know.
  • GaryPClements
Learning details in minutes: explaining realities
These podcasts are not minutiae. Oregon became a state with a “whites only” constitution, that only got amended a few years ago! As Madeline Kahn said, “It’s twue!” And explains a LOT. But you didn’t know it before listening.
  • Kaleb Adam
    Fabulous
Really enjoying every one of the short, interesting podcasts. I am addicted.
  • Squashblossom4567
    Great informative fun
    Love this podcast.

    Vitamin H
Good stuff to know that most of us don’t in a concise format - a daily historical vitamin...
